The process of making a new fireplace

The dimensions of the fireplace

The dimensions of the fireplace are primarily related to its shining hatch. Dimensions range from 50 x 35cm and even up to 2 meters wide and one meter high. The area of the place in the modern fireplace is between 35 and 50cm. In the hospitality facilities, the fireplace is often higher in height because of visibility. The depth of the classical fireplace should not be less than 50cm. With glass, the depth should not be less than 60 to 70cm. Fully opened firecaps, without glass, should not be less od120 cm in diameter (if they are open from all sides). Minimum chimney dimensions for smaller campers is 20 cm diameter, minimum 6 meters high. Bigger chimneys of diameter of 30-40 cm are needed for larger camps. The chimney cap should prevent a surge of rain in the chimney but must not push the flow of air. The fireplace can be opened from one, two, three or four sides. Transparency significantly reduces the functionality and thermal performance of the fireplace.

Types of fireplace

Our market offers steel or sewing fireplace. The sewing fireplaces only by radiation without the delicate effect of hot air, so it is in the immediate vicinity of the fireplace and at 5-6 meters the heating is not felt. The price of the Šamoton fireplace is from 1500 to 2000 euros. The fireplaces with steel boxes are complex for installation and usually installed by the manufacturer itself.  The price of the fireplace with a steel box is from 2000 to 2500 euros. Where there are no conditions for these camps, the replacement is bioetanolic (alcoholic) gordrine. Although the combustion fumes in these fireplace are not harmful, ventilation can be built.

Build fireplace: Step by step

1. Before placing the box, it is necessary to protect under cardboard, tin or old carpet. Steel box is purchased almost and delivered to the place of installation.

            2. The port of the fireplace is usually performed with metal tubes with thickness of 2-3mm or prochromic 1-2mm, adequate diameter. They can often meet the solutions of thin sheets and even flexible intestines, which are mostly short-lived. It is the best reinforced-walled, mortar-mounted pin on the chimney. However, this solution requires a highly skilled monter to avoid the liquid traps arising from the thermal dilatation of the materials used.

              3. The box and connectors are coated with plaster and prepares to set the final fireplace.

Four. The materials for the cloth are different: from a simple wall, rustic, through façade techniques, wallpaper and old bricks, natural and artificial stone and ceramics, to marble, granite, tonated glass and various mosaics. In this case, it's about natural stone.

Five. The placement of the wraps was first performed in the lower part of the fireplace. After that, there is a marble slab that continues to set the stone in the upper fireplace area.

Six.  The most common fuel for the camps is wood and wood briquettes. Coal is not recommended because it is virtually impossible to isolate an unpleasant smell of combustion. The usual use of well dried (1 to 2 years) of Grabovina, Bechina, Cerovina or oak. It is necessary to provide small, dry wood for firewood and paper, Hepo or cellulose cubes. The fire is going as far away from the opening, for functional and security reasons.

We advise that all works relating to the construction and release of the fireplace should be released to the professional persons.
