The dimensions of the fireplace
The dimensions of the fireplace are primarily related to its shining hatch. Dimensions range from 50 x 35cm and even up to 2 meters wide and one meter high. The area of the place in the modern fireplace is between 35 and 50cm. In the hospitality facilities, the fireplace is often higher in height because of visibility. The depth of the classical fireplace should not be less than 50cm. With glass, the depth should not be less than 60 to 70cm. Fully opened firecaps, without glass, should not be less od120 cm in diameter (if they are open from all sides). Minimum chimney dimensions for smaller campers is 20 cm diameter, minimum 6 meters high. Bigger chimneys of diameter of 30-40 cm are needed for larger camps. The chimney cap should prevent a surge of rain in the chimney but must not push the flow of air. The fireplace can be opened from one, two, three or four sides. Transparency significantly reduces the functionality and thermal performance of the fireplace.
