The process of treating the material with a water jet is a mechanical treatment, as is the treatment with an abrasive water jet, in which abrasive particles leave the nozzle in the cutting head at high speed and strike the cutting material. Cleaning with a pure water and abrasive water jet is ideal for cutting different materials, so that it is increasingly replaced by plasma and laser treatments, but has a wider application, since water and abrasive water can handle almost any metal and non-metal materials, small and high hardness .
